Teperberg

The Teperberg Winery was founded in 1870 by Zeev Zida Teperberg with the aim to produce quality Israeli wine in ancient times. The winery was established in the alleyway of the old city of Jerusalem, and actually was the first winery in the land of Israel in the new era. The name Efrat was chosen after the biblical road “Efrata is Beth-Lechem”, the road by which the grapes were brought to the winery.
Today TEPERBERG 1870 is Israel’s fourth largest winery and exports first class wines to more then 22 countries worldwide, including Chile, Australia, the United States, France, Spain and more. TEPERBERG 1870 wines are highly acclaimed by wine enthusiasts and have received numerous international prestigious awards. This overwhelming success is due to an adopted “New World” philosophy. The winery’s vision is to stand among the leading forces of Israel’s wine culture. Powered by a strong passion for wine and the passing down of expertise by six Teperberg generations, the Winery has transformed its vision into reality while standing in the forefront of technology and maintaining its steadfast innovation.
It recently relocated to the Judean Lowlands in the Samson Valley. The new winery is in the center of a vineyard and is planned to be the most important crossroad for winemaking and wine tourism in Israel. The region combines many years of history with unique growing conditions to be used for quality wine production originating from selected plots in the area, and today is one of the largest and leading wineries in Israel with state of the art technologies to produce fine wines.
